Les Noums, a fun and educational adventure
Organized by CNS
Continue readingLes Noums is the result of a unique partnership between Retz publishing, mathematician
Rémi Brissiaud and DragonBox, a company specializing in educational innovation.
Les Noums is a collaborative project between France and Scandinavia: multi-cultural, it is inspired by the pedagogy of the Nordic countries, renowned for the quality of their education systems.
Les Noums is an innovative way of learning mathematics, which aims to give meaning and ensure precise knowledge in a progressive way. In a colorful, fun-filled world, students can manipulate little characters called Noums, inspiring engagement and enthusiasm. Through exploration, students will integrate learning about numbers, numeracy and problem-solving.
To facilitate the study of these numbers, we use the pedagogical process and display system of the Montessori method.
Through individual and group exploration, it combines objects (rulers, colored numbers), digital tools and paper-based tools (exercises, stories, etc.) that complement it.
The ''méthode avec les Noums'' offers a complete digital and paper-based approach to mathematics.

Case Study - Discover how the University of Glasgow's new Learning Hub has become a benchmark for active learning and collaboration spaces.
Organized by STEELCASE Learning
Continue reading
Steelcase Learning worked with the University of Glasgow to design the spaces for its new Learning Hub.
Designed for more than 2,500 students, the James McCune Smith Learning Hub is an iconic building, a creative environment combining flexible study, learning and social spaces with areas dedicated to a plurality of teaching modes and equipped with the latest technology. ‘At the start of the project, we weren't talking about the building at all,’ recalls Moira Fischbacher-Smith, Senior Vice President for Learning and Teaching. ‘Instead, we were thinking about the learning experience as a whole and the environment we wanted to offer users. We focused on the flexibility of the spaces and their ability to encourage collaboration. We wanted individuals to be able to move easily from a learning space to a self-study space and back again.’ This building was an opportunity to transform the way we teach and support learning, regardless of location.
Find out how Steelcase Learning teams worked with the University of Glasgow to define an ecosystem of high-performance spaces that met their different challenges. We will share with you the key learnings from this project to help you design engaging and collaborative learning spaces on a classroom or campus scale.

How can the iPad be used in the flexible classroom?
Organized by C&C
Continue readingFor several years now, various players in the world of education have been working hard on projects involving the school form.
The aim is to rethink everything and make skilful use of space and digital technology to create
welcoming and comfortable spaces, stimulating places that make students want to work so that they can find their place.
How can we keep students motivated and include them under the right conditions?
Thinking about the school environment and the pedagogical use of the iPad means working on the organisation of learning time and learning spaces, on pupils' relationships with knowledge and teachers, and on the diversification of pedagogical and educational approaches.
Amélie Mariottat has been working in a flexible classroom for over a year, and her talk will be contextualised using teaching scenarios tested in the classroom.
Following the conference, a workshop will be held on the C&C stand F48, focusing on native iPad tools. Participants will have the opportunity to try out various flexible classroom configurations with the iPad, using equipment specially designed for this approach and offered by C&C. This workshop will provide an opportunity to experience first-hand the optimisation of learning space and to discover how the iPad can enrich teaching practices within a flexible environment. A unique opportunity to explore the possibilities offered by these technologies in real-life conditions.

Supporting teachers and students in the regulation of learning with digital tools
Organized by KOSMOS
Continue readingThe regulation of learning by the teacher encompasses all actions and measures implemented to help students integrate new knowledge.
A formative assessment sequence is an archetype of the learning regulation process: presenting a question or a problem to students, collecting their work, evaluating it, and providing feedback and actions to improve learning covers various components of interactive regulation.
The implementation of formative assessment sequences poses orchestration challenges in the classroom. Digital tools have emerged early on as a means to facilitate this implementation.
The Elaastic research program conducted at IRIT since 2013, complemented by the Konsolidation project in partnership with Kosmos since 2020, aims to design and evaluate digital environments supporting the implementation of formative assessments.
The work carried out within this framework aims to support students and teachers in the regulation of learning based on a scientific approach. In this conference, we present the key results from this work as well as the short-term prospects concerning the introduction of generative AI in this scientific approach.Conference Moderators:
